I was born in a Thai refugee camp and grew up in Australia. I became a corporate lawyer and investment executive. But my ancestors called me back to steward our generational sacred land to continue a story close to 200 years old spanning 6 generations. As the only descendent to come back, leaving my life of material comfort returning to this land became more than farming. It became a journey of healing, remembrance, decolonisation and reconnection to ancestry, Vietnamese culture, spirituality and the rhythms of nature. As my relationship to the land deepened, I began healing intergenerational trauma in the most unexpected and mystical ways. My rice embodies rebirth, healing, love and courage.
